Many students at Palo Verde High School have achieved many successes in their career paths. One student who has achieved so much at Palo Verde High School is a student named Mark Hernandez. Mark Hernandez has had amazing grades since the start of his high school years. He has inspired many of his peers around him to want to be as successful as he wants to be. He has been top of his class since his freshman year leading up to his senior year and has the academic ability to go to colleges he has dreamed of going too. He wants to go to college to be a Pediatrician and work in a hospital to work with kids who have trouble with their health issues.
Growing up Mark Hernandez has always been in hospitals for his brother who had health issues as a young child. When asked who inspired him to want to do such a career he said “ My peers around me and seeing my brother in and out of hospitals made me want to help kids just like him”. Since a child he always wanted to be a Pediatrician and help kids at hospitals and never wanted to see a kid give up like how his brother never gave up. When asked again what his expectations were after getting this achievement he answered “ I want to stay close to my family so I plan to work at Loma Linda and I also want to go to medical school at Loma Linda.”
He always has planned this and never has had a backup plan either. When asked who he looked up to in such a career path he responded with “ I look up to myself because I believe in myself that I can achieve a lot in the career I chose to do.” He has friends and family who believe in him and believe that he can achieve a lot in the career path. He was also asked “Who gave him the idea for this career path?” He said, “My brother and my mom pushed and motivated me to give this career path a chance and I always wanted to help the kids in the hospital as well.”
Mark Hernandez has been class president for his 4 years in High School and it took a lot to be where he is right now. When asked, “What did you have to do in order to get to this point in your achievement?” he responded with “ For me to be class president I had to do plenty of community service and do a lot of after-school activities for the clubs I was in.” While being class president he said “It was easy throughout the years” and himself, friends, and family are very proud of him and his accomplishments. If being class president wasn’t enough Mark Hernandez was also top of his class for his senior year as well. When asked “How was it being top of your class?” He responded, “ It feels amazing to have such an accomplishment and I’m very proud of myself for pushing myself to get to where I am right now.”
Since Mark Hernandez is at the end of his High School career, Mark was asked “What are some of the best memories you have about your journey?” he responded “ I’m gonna miss my friends and just being at school with them and also going to the river during the summer and just having fun in general.” He was also asked “What will you miss and What will you not miss?” and he responded with “ I will miss being in the halls and laughing going to lunch with my friends and what I will not miss is the toxic people and the school food.”
All of Palo Verde district and all of Palo Verde High School students, Teachers, and Staff are proud to call Mark Hernandez a Yellow Jacket.
