Landyn Munyon is a graduating senior who is going to Bushnell University, which is in the state of Oregon. But first, before we  talk about his upcoming college years let’s talk about what led to him taking this specific path instead of others. Landyn was only 10 when he started to play his very first sport, soccer. He would then realize that sports weren’t only a hobby to him, it was a passion and a way to pass the time and have fun. He would continue to play soccer throughout his youth while going to Margaret white elementary school, this is also including high school where he would continue to play soccer and start playing two more sports, cross country and track and field.

Although he faced several difficulties in high school. One of the harder obstacles he faced was an injury which happened while he was playing soccer. He unfortunately broke his collarbone during a match which resulted in him missing the rest of the season. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop him from continuing with track and field and the injury was nothing but a bump in the road for him and he didn’t let it affect him. Although he enjoyed playing all these sports he ended up choosing track and field as he saw that this sport gave him the most opportunities out of all of them when it came to scholarships for college.

This is where he decided to choose Bushnell University to do track and field where he will study and work his way to a degree in business management in the future. Although this was the option he decided to choose he also could’ve potentially taken other paths. Another university he could have taken was Lawrence Technological University for track and field and also the University of Francis for the same sport. Of course he chose Bushnell University and he is going to move but this is going to be a big moment in his life especially because he grew up here in Blythe his entire life and for him to move to an entirely different location is going to be a big chapter in his life.  Nevertheless, he made lots of great memories and is going to miss a lot of stuff about his hometown like his family and friends.

Of course, there are a few things he isn’t going to miss, for example, he never really liked the weather in Blythe. And even though of course he is going to miss his friends and family, there are a few specific people in his life that he thanks every day for helping him pursue this path. A few of those people are of course his parents and his coaches in high school who all helped him tremendously in order to get where he is today. To summarize his journey so far, Landyn would go throughout his youth playing sports. Not only this be he did this while working on his academic goals as well which shows that he is truly a hardworking person on and off the field as he very well demonstrates it.

And to do this from his youth all the way throughout high school is truly a milestone. And now he is ready to start another chapter in his life, he will be anxious or excited or maybe both for graduation but he has shown the ability to work hard and that he is ready to go to Bushnell University to start his education for his future career and continue his athletic career in track and field. All in all, no matter what happens he has shown and proven that his work ethic, whether in school or sports, that he can triumph over any obstacle or challenge in the future. So even though one chapter of his life is closing, another one is opening, with the friends and family of his hometown supporting him all the way.
