Palo Verde High School is a school filled with a multitude of talented student-athletes. In the past 3 years, the sports teams at PV have taken off in a positive way, achieving a remarkable level of success. Ezekiel Gibson also known to many as Zeke is one of the multi-sport athletes at PV. He plays football and basketball and is also successful in the classroom. He will be going to Palomar College to further his athletic career.
Zeke has been playing football since the age of 3. When asked what made him fall in love with the game he answered “My brother Deondre Gibson. I grew up watching him play, and then I started to fall in love with the game.” Zeke has been growing up around football his whole life and has truly found his passion for it. It has not always been easy though. Zeke states that “Along the way I definitely had some challenges with my mental love and passion for the sport but I overcame the obstacles and here I am now.” His honesty about the sport and what he had to overcome is truly amazing. Zeke was a multi-sport athlete playing both basketball and football. He excelled at both sports but when it came to advancing his athletic career he decided to play football.
Zeke will be continuing to play football at Palomar College in San Diego, where he will be studying sports medicine as well as business. He would like to thank his Grandmother, Mother, and Brother for always being his biggest supporters, as well as his football coaches Grant, Kent, and Ryan for always pushing him to be the best he can be. While waiting for the college season to start, he has been hitting the weight room to keep his strength up as well as participating in 7 on 7 training that take place out of town. Zeke will definitely miss the town love that Blythe has and Homecoming, but he is ready to start his journey and hopes to someday go pro.
