O’Connor Smooches a Goat

Kiss the Goat is an exciting FFA fundraising event annually on the last day of FFA spirit week. This year’s spirit week consisted of Tiny-Tot Tuesday, Western Wednesday, and Throw it Around Thursday. Teachers who voluntarily participate and receive a tin can put it in front of their desks so that students can bring in money to put in. The teacher with the most money is the lucky winner. The purpose of the teachers participating is to promote school and FFA spirit.

During snack break, students gather around the basketball courts to see who the winner is. Students love participating and watching the event as they want to see either their most liked or disliked teacher kiss one of the students FFA raised goats. Last year’s winner was FFA Ag Teacher, Mr. Mullion. He said with a chuckle “kissing the goat felt the same as giving a kiss to your daughter or pet.” This year he believed that his daughter Mrs. Maxfield, FFA Ag teacher, was also going to win but, this year’s Kiss the Goat winner was English teacher Ms. O’Connor. She won by a landslide. Overall, FFA Kiss the Goat was another grand success.

Here are a few words from winner winner chicken dinner Ms. O’Connor “I was so excited to be chosen the winner. I thought for sure Mr. Peterson had ‘extra credited’ his way to the win. Leo the goat was great! I’m not really into PDA, but it was still worth it.” Congratulations, to Ms. O’Connor! Who will be the lucky winner next year? We shall wait and see. Stay tuned PV students!
